1)
Why do you import the dogs from Europe?
We import our dogs for the following reasons:
A) More controlled
breeding.
B) Less medical
problems, due to better breeding.
C) More availability
of quality, young dogs.
D) More cost
effective, starting with a dog with sport background.
2) Why
do your handlers use foreign commands? The imported
dogs have already started training in their native country, it is easier
to teach a new handler 20 commands in a foreign language, than to retrain
the dog.
3) Why
do you train the Guard and Bark? We train the
guard and bark for the following reasons:
A) It teaches the dog
a conditioned response(bark) when they locate
someone that they cannot
get to.
B)
It allows you to use the dog in various situations, that a find and
bite
dog may not be deployed in.
4)
Do you use female dogs? Yes we will use female dogs
when we can find a good one, unfortunately this is rare due to their
value for breeding.
5) Do
you cross train dogs(Patrol and Detection)? Yes
we do cross train dogs, if the correct dogs are selected for this,
it is a very cost effective option for a department. Some of the
most effective detection dogs are cross trained dogs.
We very strongly feel there
is no disadvantage if the dogs are properly selected.
